Let’s put INCOME in perspective.

The average pay raise in 2018 was expected to be about 3 percent, up slightly from 2.9 percent in 2017, according to Aon Hewitt’s annual survey on U.S. salary increases, which is based on responses from over 1,000 companies. Jan 9, 2018

Out of Reach found that the average hourly wage needed to rent a $1,006 two-bedroom unit in the United States is $19.35 — or $40,240 per year. That’s more than two and a half times the federal minimum wage, the report noted, and $4 over the estimated average wage of $15.16 that renters earn nationwide. Jun 1, 2015

If we continue to pay for debt with credit cards or loans, without a significant increase in the amount of income we can bring into our households, bankruptcy is inevitable for many.  With the average interest rate of a credit card around 15% and the average annual increase of 3% in salaries. That means that anyone with that type of debt alone is 12% in the hole and that hole gets bigger every month.

I’m not a financial expert, I’m a creator of possibilities. I explored all kinds of options to generate additional income for my family: real estate investing, flipping houses, bond trading, becoming a stock broker, and even franchise ownership. When it really got down to it for me, every option I explored ended up being to big a risk. The money in vs. the money out placed too much cash at risk for my comfort. Yes, the potential was there, but in order to play big, you had to be comfortable loosing big too.  I’ve never been able to be excited about that formula.
